Splurge or Save?!
I love doing these ‘Splurge or Save’ posts! The question of whether to spend or save on any given item usually factors in several considerations. One thing to consider is if it a trending piece that will be sitting in your closet next year or is it a classic piece that you will be able to wear season after season? Another factor to consider is, when it comes to footwear, is cheaper really the better deal? Materials the shoe is made of makes a huge difference, especially when it comes to comfort. (I don’t know about you but the older I get, the less willing to suffer for fashion I am. I even sold a favorite pair of heels that required painkillers to wear. #notworthit)
With these tan western boots, you really could go either way. While the cowboy/western style may be trending right now, the tan, neutral color is very classic and wearable. And depending on where you live, the cowboy style might actually be classic and not just the trend. While I have not had the pleasure of trying on the Dolce Vita pair, I am slightly bias here because I now own the Target pair.
I happened upon a pair at my local Target one day and took the opportunity to try them on. As soon as I did, I was sold! Immediately. They were the most comfortable boot EVER. I was shocked and giddy all at the same time. The outside is soft, faux suede, there are pulls at each side to help your foot glide in, a side zipper, and a memory foam insole. The inner lining of the boot is comfortable and doesn’t make your leg sweat either-I’m just keeping it real there. (I’ve put on boots that the lining does not breathe at all and turns the boot into a straight-jacket sauna, and your leg sweat makes it nearly impossible to take off. Not my idea of a good time at the end of an evening.)
I am linking both boots here as well as a real suede/leather protector as well as a faux suede/fabric protector. Each type of material requires a different spray to keep your boots/bags protected from water, dirt, or life in general. Whether your piece is a splurge or a save, it is worth protecting! 😉
Do you own either boot yet? If not, which one would you likely go with, and why? Let me know in the comments below!
